About me

Thanks for visiting my website!

I'm a print maker/artist based in Levenshulme, Manchester.

My work is inspired by the scenes and everyday objects around me, things that catch my eye that I want to hold in the light so other people can see them too.

I work in a variety of media, but focus mainly on etching, screen printing and lino.  I can't say which is my favourite as I like them all!

My aim is to distil the essence of a subject into a bold, simple form that still retains the atmosphere and essential detail. I have experimented with shaped zinc plates, reminiscent of Renaissance oil paintings, and the introduction of 'interference' on the plate.  This exploits the compromises and quirks inherent in print making. I am influenced by Pop Art and graphic images. I am always experimenting with different styles and techniques, but I think my work retains a distinctive style.

My most recent work is a series of etchings of urban scenes in and around Salford, which was exhibited at Salford Museum and Art Gallery in 2019.

The image below won first prize in the Salford Museum and Art Gallery Summer Show 2018!  Yay!
